The history of satellites started in 1957 when the first satellite was launched by the USSR, called Sputnik. The Americans, not to be outdone, went ahead and created the first communication satellite called Project SCORE, amazingly crude by today’s standard. Since then, satellite technology has continued to develop from a tape recorder in the sky, it has become a reflector so the live signals can be sent and received.
And now satellites are so close to many of us entering our houses via TV, Internet broadcasting etc. More information is in our video
