1. Competition entitled UN Resolution 1325 – Women, Peace and Security.

IWPR’s Caucasus Programme invites journalists to submit articles for a competition entitled UN Resolution 1325 – Women, Peace and Security.

This contest forms part of the project Women Connecting for Peace - The Voice of Change, which IWPR is running in partnership with UN Women.

The aim behind the competition to promote journalistic coverage of issues relating to United Nations Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security.

Articles for submission should reflect the spirit of the UN resolution by looking at issues including:

      - Supporting female participation in security and peace-building issues;

      - Taking account of the needs of women in conflict-prevention processes;

      - Eliminating all forms of violence against women in conflict, and addressing the issues that affect them.

Articles can be in Georgian, English or Russian, and should be between 600 and 1,000 words in length. The material submitted should preferably be illustrated by photographs.

The authors of the best pieces will be awarded cash prizes.

Submissions can be emailed to info@iwpr.ge, or brought in to IWPR’s office at 7B DzmebiZubalashvilebi Street, Offices 22/23, Tbilisi.

The deadline for submissions is 1300 local time on October 29, 2012, 13:00pm.
