A training course for journalists: "Coverage of climate change issues"
The Deutsche Welle Academy (Deutsche Welle DW-Akademie), in cooperation with Internews Media Support NGO in Armenia, is planning a training course entitled "Coverage of Climate Change Issues". The training will take place from 10 through 21 June, 2013 in Yerevan and is intended for ten selected journalists from different regions of the South Caucasus. Potential candidates must have at least 2-years of work experience with print or online media outlets and be professionally interested in the environmental issues. For participation in the course, the candidate should submit a brief resume and three published articles on environmental issues to Narine Safarian, the Trainings Manager for Internews NGO, at the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org
The deadline for submission is June 1, 2013.
The main objectives of the course are:
1. Promoting coverage of environmental issues in the region
2. Enhancing the skills of the participants in environmental reporting
3. Expansion and strengthening of the journalist network in the region
4. Providing more information about the experts and information resources on climate change.
The top two graduates of the course will have an opportunity to participate in a seminar in Warsaw, which will be held within the framework of the Climate Change Conference in fall 2013.
The course will be delivered in English with consecutive translation into Russian. Knowledge of the Russian language is a must; knowledge of English is desirable (for possible participation in a seminar in Warsaw.)
The course fee, travel expenses, accommodation and meals will be covered by the Academy.
