discussion on Television audience measurements in Georgia:

Transparency International Georgia Invites you to a discussion on Television audience measurements in Georgia: the Revenue Service’s audit, its implications on the market and how to move forward

Monday, 31 March 2014, 14:00 – 16:00 at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel; Freedom Square, Tbilisi

The recent tax and inventory audit at TV MR GE, the licensed representative of Nielsen Television Audience Measurement, and the Revenue Service’s demand to access the addresses of households that have the company’s peoplemeters installed, have raised numerous questions about the motives of these inspections, its implications on broadcasting and advertising market and triggered a number of comments and statements about TV MR GE’s activities, some of which were unqualified or ill-informed and further fueled rumors and speculations.

In order to clarify the current situation and to facilitate a dialogue between the stakeholders that are directly affected by the audit of TV MR GE – TV stations and advertisers – and to discuss how to move forward and minimize the disruption and negative impact on the market, we are inviting all interested parties to discuss:

- The events around the tax audit in the past few weeks;

- Status quo – what is currently happening;

- Implications on the advertising and media market, and next steps to move forward.
