17 April – Imedi Self-Regulation Board to Discuss Media Club Complaint
17 April, Tuesday, at 7 p.m. Imedi TV Self-Regulation board will discuss the complaint of the Media Club against Women’s Logic show.
Citizens and Tbilisi Media Club members organized a rally in front of Imedi TV on 26 March in protest against the Women’s Logic show. They claim Women’s Logic show is discriminatory against women and is against the norms of the Code of Conduct of Broadcasters, according to which broadcaster must refrain from airing hatred and intolerance promoting content in relation to any sex. Complaint authors request abolishment of the show, or change of its content in order for it to coincide with standards of journalistic ethics.
Protest rally organizers have also gathered up to 1000 signatures under the complaint lodged to Imedi self-regulation board.
Imedi lawyer and producer of the show have responded to the rally participants.
